The first impression is always of lasting nature. And this impression is shaped decisively by the design, because the inner values can usually only be experienced at second glance while driving. The lines and surfaces of the Mercedes-AMG GT are designed with uncompromising purism.
The long, low bonnet, the greenhouse set far back and the extremely short overhangs are clear sports car statements from the Mercedes-AMG GT. Flowing shapes and curves create an intriguing interplay of light reflections.
A glance at the front leaves absolutely no doubt – this is a masterpiece. The black diamond grille with central star and the low bonnet are impressive, and promise true performance. The large cooling air intakes and the air intakes at the sides provide the engine with air to breathe and crown the dynamic front bumper.
Viewed from the side, the extremely long bonnet with extremely short front overhang creates a memorable impression. The rear in fastback design with the distinctive C-pillar and the gently sloping hatch emphasises the dynamism of the Mercedes-AMG GT. The powerful rear bumper with fully integrated tailpipes and pronounced taper provides a view of the mighty tyres.
The interior more than lives up to what the exterior design promises. The Mercedes-AMG GT gives its driver that prickling feeling of driving a unique sports car already upon getting in.
Once you have taken a seat on the AMG sports seats, your eyes are drawn to the AMG Performance steering wheel and the AMG instrument cluster with gauges in carbon-fibre design. The sculptural instrument panel with free-standing display and sporty-exclusive AMG trim make a convincing overall impression.
The dynamic, dominant shape of the centre console, which rises towards the instrument panel and widens, surrounds the technical heart of the interior, the AMG DRIVE UNIT. Its controls are arranged like the cylinders of a V8 engine, and include the AMG DYNAMIC SELECT controller for choosing the driving programmes and the buttons for adjusting the dampers of the optional AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension.
